How To Discern Truth From Falsehood

John 14:6: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 15:26: But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

John 8:32: And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

John 17:17: Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Without the Bible, individuals cannot come to faith.

Romans 10:17: So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Without the Bible men cannot know who God is, what He is like, how to find Him or have faith in Him. We cannot separate the three persons of the Trinity and have just one. When men hear and believe enough of the Bible to receive Jesus, they receive the Father and the Holy Spirit as well. Then and only then do they have access to all of the truth in the Bible.

Among the majority of mankind who reject the Bible and Jesus, some just reject parts of the Bible. For them, rejecting parts of the Bible gets the same result as rejecting all of it. When they reject parts of the Bible they reject parts of God. They create in their imaginations a grotesque god with missing parts. Their god is like a jig-saw puzzle with the most important pieces missing. Their god would be a dysfunctional god. Their gods do not exist. God is never dysfunctional in any way. If an individual has not believed enough of the Bible to receive Jesus, God will not function in him or in his life in any spiritual sense. We cannot learn truth from those individuals because they do not possess it or understand it.

When we receive Jesus we do not know all truth instantly. Knowing truth and falsehood is a growth process that begins when we receive Him. For one who has received Jesus and studies the Bible, it will cut away the falsehoods about God and reveal the truths about Him. To the same extent that an individual who has received Jesus keeps himself ignorant of the Bible, God can SEEM dysfunctional to him and in his life.

God wants us to have the real thing. All the counsel of God is available in the Bible. He wants to be fully functional in us and in our lives. He wants all of His truth to be fully functional in us and in our lives.

Acts 20:27: For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

If you want to discern truth and falsehood, receive Jesus and embrace all of the Bible as if your life depended upon it. Cling to it. Dive into it. Immerse yourself in it. Study it. Soak it in. Obey it. Live it. Find Bible teachers that will give you all the counsel of God. Your life DOES depend upon it.
